September 30, 2004ID Email DesignI finished the proposal for the new Incidencia Democratica email layout. I put an image of the email we currently send out, along with my suggested redesign, in the Projects section of the photo page. Please send me your critiques and suggestions. Rob, it looks good, but the letters are all mixed up so I can't read them.. Do you think it's my browser ? ;) By the way, I've been trying to find out exactly what "Elcanche" means. I found out that Lacanche is a company that makes "gourmet range cookers." So is Elcanche just the masculine version. Perhaps charcoal barbeque grills? If so, I would like to get a catalog sent. (hence the photo of the day) It is a vernacular term from Guatemala coined for the first man to introduce the cocoa bean to the masses. It was a term of respect, honor and privilege. The first El Canche was coronated and when he died, his body was coated in chocolate dust which surprisingly ended up being a great preservative. His body is on display at Tikal. However, if I am wrong about this, I too, would like to order one of those barbeque grills!
