Next stop: New York
Hey everyone!
This will be my last post from Guatemala.
No, hold on... please stop the wailing and the gnashing of teeth! What I meant to say is that this will be my last journal entry in Guatemala until January 2006, when I return from my Christmas vacation.
Tomorrow morning, at the hideously unreal hour of 5:30am, I'll be checking my bags at La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City for a flight to New York.
Home for the holidays... I can't wait! (Although I guess I'll have to... I've got a 5 hour layover in Miami.)
And so, as the evangelical church down the street belts out "Gloria in Excelsis Deo", let me wish you a wonderful evening and a relaxing weekend!
The next time you hear from me, I'll be tawkin wid a funny New Yawk accent. (Yo, you got a problem wid dat?!?)
Hasta prontito,
Rob

gracias por tomar esas fotos de Guatemala
I still remember that week I spent with you in New York. It was around Christmas 20 years ago. Yeah, great times. Have fun!
Jim, don't you think it's time for another visit?
Estimado Gustavo:
¡Te deseo una muy feliz navidad y un prospero año nuevo a ti y a tu familia! And thanks for the kind comment about the photos. One of my New Year's Resolutions will be to put more photos of Guatemala and her wonderful people on this site.
Rob
Dear Jim,
I've always considered you to be a man of extraordinary talent and intellect. But in this case I'm afraid you must be mistaken! If we're, what, 27 or 28 years old now... I sincerely doubt that you (my ex college roommate) could have visited me in NY some 20 years ago.
Do the math, man!
According to your calculations we would be nearly, um, forty years old. And THAT can't be right. Still, despite your mathematical miscalculations, Mom is right. It IS time that you came to visit again! (If you wait much longer you'll be visiting me "at the home" instead of "in my home"!)
