Rudy's Antigua
There’s been something that I’ve been wanting to do for some time now. (Well, yes, find a store in Guatemala that sells Ben & Jerry’s N.Y. Super Fudge Chunk ice cream... but that’s not what I’m referring to.)
The striking photograph above, of a church in Antigua, was taken by the very talented photographer, Rudy Girón. Rudy has been a long-time supporter of my blog (you know, back when I was actually writing on a regular basis.) Now, I would like to return the favor and point you in the direction of his amazing website!
Antigua Guatemala Daily Photo is on the short-list of my daily “must-visit” blogs. Not only does Rudy have an incredible eye for photography, but his descriptions of Antigua are by turns funny, informative, and even profound.
My hat’s off to Rudy who, besides creating a terrific site, is frighteningly bilingual, and is the art editor of two of Guatemala’s essential magazines: Revue and Recrearte.
So why not take some time to stroll along the cobblestone streets of Rudy’s Antigua? Examine the ruins of ancient cathedrals, glance up at the majestic volcanoes, smell the spectacular flowers, and then pop into a café for a cappuccino. It’s almost like being there in person!
